Mid-Full LEngth PLays

(in development) Saving Amber. 90-minute play about a young woman’s fight to emancipate herself from an exploitative influencer mother. Winner of the Methuen Marlowe Other Prize for Drama 2023.

2024, The Shadow. Susie Sainsbury Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music 45-minute piece about Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale ‘The Shadow’ told alongside the story of his relationship with Charles Dickens. Written to be interwoven with original music by composer George Parris.

2022-present Moderation. Premiere in Cambridge at the ADC in 2022 / Greenside Mint Studio and The Grand Theatre, theSpace@Surgeon’s Hall for EdFringe 2023 /(upcoming) Greenwich Theatre’s Pick of the Fringe season October 2023 60-minute play about the trauma faced by social media moderators. Winner of the CUADC Playwriting Award and the Cambridge Creatives Playwriting Competition, 2022. Winner of the ‘Two Bens’ competition for a fully funded slot at the EdFringe – after selling out its first week its run there was extended and moved to a larger venue with theSpace. Off West End Award nominated.

2021-ongoing In a Cave, a VoicePembroke Players, National Student Drama Festival 50-minute play about isolation, set in a cave, winner of the Pembroke Players Playwriting Competition and selected for the competitive NSDF 2021. In development for future festivals.

2021 Wilde About Oscar. Tour of Italy and Switzerland. Revived version of The Dreaming Prince.

2021 The Spirit of St Leonard’s. YPPT, St Leonard’s Church. Lottery-funded heritage project commissioned through the Young People’s Puppet Theatre. Part of a celebration of a restoration project.

2019 The Crossing Place and A Grim Day Out. YPPT, St Alban’s Cathedral. Commissioned heritage community project: two short plays for children about the history of the abbey and St Alban.

2019 The Folkman’s Tale. Shake and Create, The Other Place, Stratford-upon-Avon. 45-minute play co-written with Lucia Xu for our MA in Shakespeare and Creativity.

2018 The Lady’s Mad. Thistledown Theatre, Midlands Tour. 90-minutes. Original story about the women prophets of the English civil war. Performed in Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Wallingford. One of 4 finalists for the 2020 Questors Student Playwriting Award.

2018-9 The Dreaming Prince. Charioteer Theatre, Italian Tour. 50-minutes. Commissioned one-man show about a young Oscar Wilde. Premiered in the Arena Del Sole in Bologna, and Teatro Comunale in Casalmaggiore and toured across Italy for two years.

2018 My Sister’s Feet. Young People’s Puppet Theatre, UK Schools Tour. 50-minutes. Commissioned original story about foot-binding in China.

2017-ongoing A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Young People’s Puppet Theatre, UK schools Tour. 50-minutes. Commissioned adaptation for primary school children.  A second adaptation also commissioned for older, secondary school children.

2016 Naked is the Realm. St Peter’s College, Oxford. 90-minutes. Student production. Original story about medical diagrams and censorship in the sixteenth century. Supported by the Museum of the History of Science and the Bodleian Print Room. One of 8 finalists for the Radius 2020 Playwriting Competition.

2022 A Song of Silent WondersCentre for Intercultural Musicology at Churchill College, Cambridge Festival - Commissioned radio play with original music about the woman science-artist who first recorded deep sea fish.

2021 There is a Door. Downing Drama Society, New Writing Festival, Howard Theatre. 20-minute play which hypothesizes: ‘what if the internet was a library, and one day you came across the dark web…?’ One of 9 plays selected.

 

2020 The Winter Lamb. The Marlowe Society, online release during Covid. 10-minute folk horror radio play. One of 8 audio dramas selected for the Hatch Holiday Special.

 

2020 She-Bear. Popelei, online release during Covid.  5-minute monologue about a woman who finds she can turn into a polar bear. One of 25 monologues to be awarded the Popelei 2020 Seed Commission.

 

2020 Landing Fall. Theatre503, online release during Covid. 10-minute play about PTSD written in as a ‘Rapid Write Response’ to Andrew Rosendorf’s Paper Cut. One of the 12 plays chosen.

 

2020 Intuition. Slackline Productions, The Southwark Playhouse, London.  15-minute play written, produced, and performed within 24 hours as part of International Women’s Day.

 

2019 Ugly Soup. Wrong Shoe Theatre Company, Front Room Theatre, London.  15-minute horror play for the ‘Wrong Spook’ scratch night. One of 8 plays chosen.

 

2019 Bats. Slackline Production, The Southwark Playhouse, London.  10-minute play required to feature a female protagonist over the age of 35. One of 6 plays chosen from over 140 submissions.

 

2019 Some Necessary Measures. Black Cat Theatre, The Pleasance, London.  10-minute play, one of 8 chosen for the ‘Millennials’ scratch night from over a hundred submissions.

 

2019 Quest Invisible. Plays Rough, The Old Red Lion, London.  15-minute play without spoken words for the ‘Theatre Without Sight and Sound night. One of 6 plays chosen from over 200 submissions.

 

2019 I’ll Explain it Using Fish. Sharp Scratches, Theatre Deli, London.15-minute play on the theme of mental health. One of 8 plays chosen from over 370 submissions.
