"In A Cave, A Voice" WINS Pembroke Players Playwriting Competition

Updated: Apr 2, 2021

The Pembroke Players launched a new playwriting competition in Michaelmas 2020. My play, "In A Cave, A Voice" was chosen as the winner and, as part of the prize, the Pembroke Players committed to putting on a performance.

Set in a Neolithic cave, the play was originally intended for an in-person immersive performance. Due to Covid, I adapted it for audio only. The Players helped me pitch the winning piece to the National Student Drama Festival, 2021, where it will be performed as part of a prestigious line-up of the best new theatre from universities across the UK.

I am incredibly excited by this and grateful to the Pembroke Players for running the competition. I've been able to work with some fantastic student theatre makers and have had my first ever original score composed by the excellent Lily Blundell.

NSDF will be broadcasting the play at 7.30 on 31st March: https://www.nsdf.org.uk/whats-on/in-a-cave-a-voice-nsdf-21-939/
